Annette B. Cates

Library Director

Annette B. Cates is married to Curtis A. Cates, Director Emeritus, of the Memphis School of Preaching. They have two sons, Curtis Anthony, Jr. (Andy) and Daniel Frazier (Dan); they have four grandchildren.

Annette Cates received her A. A. degree from Alabama Christian College (now Faulkner University), attended Livingston University and Auburn University (B. S.), and holds the Master of Library Service degree from the University of Alabama. Her undergraduate work was in Social Sciences and English.

Annette has directed libraries at Amridge University and Columbia Christian College. She served as a Reader Advisor at the Alabama Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped. She retired in 2001 from her position as Information Services Librarian at Rhodes College, Memphis, Tennessee. She indexed the first fifteen years of the Spiritual Sword journal, indexes the Memphis School of Preaching lectures for the Restoration Serials Index, and does the annual indexing for the Gospel Journal. She also writes a monthly column ("One Woman's Perspective") for the Gospel Journal. Presently, she is the director of the N. B. Hardeman Library at the Memphis School of Preaching.
